## How the FolioScore Works

The FolioScore is a proprietary AI and machine-learning algorithm. It was built by backtesting more than 30 years of market history across 70+ candidate metrics and tens of thousands of companies — millions of data points — and keeping only the factors that actually predicted returns. It reads those metrics across six pillars:

1. **Valuation** — earnings, cash flow and enterprise-value multiples
2. **Growth** — revenue and earnings growth, and whether it is accelerating
3. **Quality** — returns on capital, margin trend, cash conversion
4. **Financial Health** — leverage, interest coverage, liquidity
5. **Momentum** — price trend against its own history and its sector
6. **Shareholder Returns** — dividends, buybacks and whether they are affordable

Each reading is judged against sector-aware standards and against the company's own history, with purpose-built factor sets for banks, REITs and utilities. Every score maps to one of four verdicts — Strong Buy, Buy, Hold or Avoid. No analyst opinion goes into the number. The factor list, thresholds, pillar weights and verdict cut-offs are proprietary.
